Inspired work space solutions for Audible’s “Innovation Cathedral”

Amazon-owned audiobook and radio company Audible opened a new office in a historic Presbyterian church its hometown of Newark, New Jersey, in May of 2020.

Locus worked with HLW and Audible in designing many different styles of table in assorted finishes — custom metal, back-painted glass, distressed metal, and sketch face veneer tables. Table T10 is a live edge walnut slab that was reversed to facilitate ease-of-use. The center black portion is Corian, laser cut by robots to match the contours of the live edge. In the background is the top of a three-story-tall pipe organ, which was taken out piece-by-piece, refurbished, and reinstalled. Table 204 shows the library tables in sketch face walnut with custom lamps and metal bases in the main cathedral.
